Camogue Rovers GAA club is based in South Limerick around the village of Meanus. It competes in Football and Hurling in the South Limerick GAA division. The club was originally formed in 1925, and its current incarnation was reformed in the 1950s, and it soon aquired the current field near the banks of the Camogue River, between Meanus Church and Greybridge Ceamery. In 2003 the club in conjunction with local people, undertook the writing of a club and parish history entitled 'Meanus-Our Place and Our People'. This publication was greeted with widespread acclaim and is still availible from club officers. On the field of play, 'The Rovers' have produced many exceptional players, and have been victorious in a number of divisonal competions. But we are still awaiting our first county title. We hope that the launching of this website will signify yet another milestone for our small club, as it progresses into the 21st century. |
