Kinawley 0-10 Lisnaskea 0-09 (SFL)

This was a 'high noon' shoot-out affair at Kinawley where, at the break, the teams were level on 0-4 each. But, Kinawley should have been comfortably ahead for they spurned a series of chances in the opening quarter.

As it was, they had to rely on two Shaun Doherty pointed frees and points from play from Manus Corrigan and Sean Hussey. In reply, the Emmets scored courtesy of Paul Curran, Ryan Glancy, Stephen Carters and Aidy Little (free).

Carters, playing at wing half-forward, had an impressive game for the visitors and showed an aptitude for place-kicking. Others to catch the eye were full-back, Mark McKenna, John Woods at midfield and Glancy at full-forward.

Kinawley went two points up at the start of the second-half and, from that to the finish, it was nip and tuck, with only one clear-cut goal chance. That followed a solo run by the Lisnaskea goalkeeper, Barry McGoldrick who was dispossessed and, when he fouled the player, the 20-metre free was converted.

At the other end, Lisnaskea sent a number of scoreable chances narrowly wide. They were again missing Mark Little and, also, Daniel Kille who was protecting a knee injury.

The win places Kinawley tucked in behind the front three, Lisnaskea included. Their former county star, Shaun Doherty is now back to his best form. He bagged 0-6, including three points from play in the second-half. Their other points' scorers were Matthew Drumm and Sean Rua Leonard.

Others to shine included Ciaran Malanaphy at wing half-forward.
