This was a 'high noon' shoot-out affair at Kinawley where, at the break, the teams were level on 0-4 each. But, Kinawley should have been comfortably ahead for they spurned a series of chances in the opening quarter.

Coa have proved beyond doubt that they are well capable of holding their own in the second division and they were moments away from collecting their third win of the campaign, denied that by a last minute point from Kinawley.

A somewhat better performance from Irvinestown at least in the first half which saw them play some purposeful football. Winning a fair amount of possession in the middle of the park and showing some enterprise up front, the St Molaise squad looked like they would be able to come out with a win here which would revitalise their league hopes.

A strong wind was a factor in shaping the pattern of this derby Erne Cup two clash at the Kinawley ground. Belnaleck enjoyed the benefit of the elements in the opening half but they didn't really make a great deal of use of it and they were only four points in front by the time that the interval was reached.

In the end, this was an emphatic victory for Kinawley in this local derby clash but the Brian Boru's weren't all that comfortable until the final quarter of the contest. Derrylin had put up a sturdy effort but over the final passage of play, the O'Connell's effort faltered and two goals for Kinawley ensured that their was in the end, a sizeable gap separating the teams.
